Professional photography is an excellent career choice for anyone who wants to get paid for using their creative talents. It's one of the few fields where age and college degrees aren't as important as a good eye, a quality product, and self discipline. Photography is a competitive field, so be prepared to start small. Then perfect your craft and build a portfolio of your best work.
- And in my opinion, there are 10 steps on how to become a photographer :
Step 1: Define to yourself what you are drawn to visually .Become aware of your identity and photographic DNA
Step 2: See and understand light .Understand your photographic toold:technical, visual and emotional
Step3: Seek a mentor .Study the photographers before you and learn from the old masters.
Step 4: Make rather than take .Create imagery.
Step 5: Connect with the place or person you are photographing .Find an emotional as well as visual perspective.
Step 6: Set goals and pursue them with tenacity.
if these goals do not intimidate you, make new ones that do.
Step 7: Shoot, shoot, shoot! Taking pictures is like lifting weight; you won't get better stronger or see progress unless you go to the gym every day .Exercise that creative muscle.
Step 8: Use photoshop to infuse personality to pixels .Convery feel and mood rather than technique.
Step9: Define the potential audience of your images, and market yourself to this audience.
Step 10: And more important than anything: Don't give up on your dream of becoming a photographer. It will take longer to get there than you think.
